Five Loaves, Two Fish Print
Based on Matthew 14:13-21, The Story of Jesus Feeding 5000
The disciples are exhausted from serving and helping others, and it’s time to rest. Time to eat and have a minute. But they realize there is no food for the people and tell Jesus so. Jesus says “you feed them.” I would of been furious, thinking “I’ve been working for you all day! It’s time for my rest! And I can’t feed all these people anyway!” The disciples respond similarly. And then we see Jesus feed the 5000 from two loaves and five fish with TWELVE leftover baskets, one for each disciple! A basket of leftovers for each disciple to see this is Jesus’s work, not their own. Everything we do, we get the ability and strength through Him.
